Mosquito Identification & Prevention Guide
What draws mosquitoes to Central Texas yards, when they’re most active, and how to make your property less inviting.
Read the guide →A mosquito or two indoors is an annoyance. A yard full of them in a Central Texas summer is a health problem: mosquitoes spread West Nile virus, Zika, and dengue fever. We can’t promise a yard with zero mosquitoes, and nobody honestly can, but our trap-and-fog program knocks their numbers down hard and keeps them down all season across Leander and greater Austin.

What we do
The In2Care system turns mosquitoes against their own breeding sites. We place traps in the shaded spots around your property where mosquitoes rest, and when a female lands inside to lay eggs, she picks up a larvicide and carries it to every other breeding location nearby.
The active ingredient wipes out larvae where they hatch and eliminates the adult mosquito within a few days. We install the traps, then check and refill them on every monthly visit.
Once a month, we fog the shrubs, trees, grasses, and shaded areas where adult mosquitoes rest during the day. Fogging gives a fast knockdown of the adults already on your property, so you feel the difference the same week.
While we’re there, we also tip out anything that’s collected standing water, because a bottle cap of water is enough for mosquitoes to breed, and we check your In2Care traps and refill them if needed.
Hosting a backyard barbecue, a graduation party, or an outdoor wedding? A one-time fogging treatment before your event clears the yard so mosquitoes don’t drive your guests inside at sunset.
We’ll treat your space before the event so mosquitoes can’t ruin it. No contract required.
Learn how to identify mosquitoes →Why it matters
Mosquitoes can chase you indoors, but they shouldn’t keep you captive in your own house. From spring through the first real cold snap, Central Texas gives mosquitoes eight-plus months of breeding weather, which is why one-off sprays fade fast and a trap-plus-fogging program holds. We’ll cut the mosquito population on your property down to where evenings on the patio are yours again, whether you’re in Leander, Cedar Park, or anywhere in the greater Austin area.

Neighbors first
Reliable, professional, punctual, friendly, worry-free service. My experience with them has never been anything less than that for several years now, and I have absolutely no reason to believe that will change for many years to come. I could not be happier with them.
We’ve had Accurate Pest Control service our property since 2008. They don’t try to sell us anything we don’t need. Our monthly service fee has been consistent and reasonable since 2008. It’s difficult to find a quality company in most home services, but you can count on Accurate Pest Control to take care of your property.
What a great company! I purchased an ant control plan that had a 1 yr warranty for our yard. One month later, new ant mounds in other parts of our yard. I called them and they came out and treated again at no charge. It’s been 2-3 months and no ants. They also treat my house and the chemicals they use aren’t harmful to animals.
I receive quarterly pest treatments and had them out for critters in the attic over the summer as well. Very friendly and helpful service! I felt safe with both men that came to help even though I was home alone. The price is competitive and fair. Would definitely recommend!

No, and we’d be suspicious of any company that promises that. Mosquitoes fly in from neighboring properties and breed in any standing water. What our trap-and-fogging program does is dramatically reduce the population on your property and keep it suppressed all season, which is the difference between a miserable patio and a usable one.
Traps go in the shaded areas where mosquitoes rest. When a female lands in one to lay eggs, she picks up a larvicide on her body and spreads it to the other breeding sites around your property, killing larvae where they hatch. The active ingredient also eliminates that mosquito within a few days.
We come out monthly. Each visit includes fogging the shrubs, trees, and shaded resting areas, dumping out anything that’s collected standing water, and checking and refilling your In2Care traps.

Longer than anyone would like. Central Texas mosquitoes get active in early spring and stay busy until the first sustained cold snap, often into November. That eight-plus month season is why a monthly program beats one-off sprays here.
