Ant Identification & Prevention Guide
Fire ants, carpenter ants, and the other species marching through Central Texas yards, and how to tell them apart.
Read the guide →Fire ants are everywhere on lawns across Leander and the greater Austin area, and they’re more than a nuisance: upset a mound and they swarm fast, covering you in painful stings. They’re genuinely dangerous for young children, older adults, and anyone with a compromised immune system. They will not go away on their own, and the problem only grows with time.

What we do
Depending on your lawn’s size and shape, we treat in the vicinity of the fire ant mounds themselves, hitting the colonies where they actually live.
We arrive at your house ready to treat, so the problem starts shrinking on the first visit.
For bigger yards, or mounds spread across multiple areas, we treat the entire lawn instead of chasing individual colonies.
This is also the honest answer to why DIY mound treatments backfire: disturb a colony with store-bought products and the ants feel threatened and splinter, separating into multiple colonies that spread across new sections of your lawn.
Our fire ant control service comes with a one-year warranty. If you have any problems with fire ants during the year after treatment, we return to your home and re-treat at no additional cost.
That’s the difference between paying for a treatment and paying for a fire-ant-free year.
Why it matters
A yard you can’t let the kids play in isn’t much of a yard. Fire ants are a fact of life across Central Texas, but an active infestation on your property doesn’t have to be. If you’ve spotted fire ants or mounds on your lawn, don’t wait, and don’t treat the mounds yourself; call us before the colony splinters and multiplies. We serve lawns across Leander, Cedar Park, and the greater Austin area.

Neighbors first
Reliable, professional, punctual, friendly, worry-free service. My experience with them has never been anything less than that for several years now, and I have absolutely no reason to believe that will change for many years to come. I could not be happier with them.
We’ve had Accurate Pest Control service our property since 2008. They don’t try to sell us anything we don’t need. Our monthly service fee has been consistent and reasonable since 2008. It’s difficult to find a quality company in most home services, but you can count on Accurate Pest Control to take care of your property.
What a great company! I purchased an ant control plan that had a 1 yr warranty for our yard. One month later, new ant mounds in other parts of our yard. I called them and they came out and treated again at no charge. It’s been 2-3 months and no ants. They also treat my house and the chemicals they use aren’t harmful to animals.
I receive quarterly pest treatments and had them out for critters in the attic over the summer as well. Very friendly and helpful service! I felt safe with both men that came to help even though I was home alone. The price is competitive and fair. Would definitely recommend!
